Subject: ASSALAAMU ALAYKUM !!!!!!

Dear Friend,

With due respect to your person and much sincerity of purpose, I make this contact with you as I believe that you can be of great assistance to me. My name is Dr.Iskandar Hisham Iqbal, from Ouagadougou  Republic of BURKINA FASO, West Africa . Presently I work in the African development Bank as telex manager. I have been searching for your contact since you left our country some years ago.

I do not know whether this is your correct email address or not because I only used your name initials to search for your contact .In case you are not the person I am supposed to contact, please see this as a confidential message and do not reveal it to another person but if you are not the intended receiver, do let me know whether you can be of assistance regarding my proposal below because it is top secret.

I am about to retire from active Bank service to start a new life but I am sceptical to reveal this particular secret to a stranger. You must assure me that everything will be handled confidentially because we are not going to suffer again in life.

It has been 10 years now that most of the greedy African Politicians used our bank to launder money overseas through the help of their Political advisers. Most of the funds which they transferred out of the shores of Africa were gold and oil money that was supposed to have been used to develop the continent. Their Political advisers always inflated the amounts before transfer to foreign accounts so I also used the opportunity to divert part of the funds hence I am aware that there is no official trace of how much was transferred as all the accounts used for such transfers were being closed after transfer. I acted as the Bank Officer to most of the politicians and when I discovered that they were using me to succeed in their greedy act;

I also cleaned some of their banking records from the Bank files and no one cared to ask me because the money was too much for them to control. They laundered over $5b Dollars during the process .As I am sending this message to you; I was able to divert thirty five million united state dollars ($35m) to an escrow account belonging to no one in the bank. The bank is anxious now to know who the beneficiary to the funds is because they have made a lot of profits with the funds.

It is more than Eight years now and most of the politicians are no longer using our bank to transfer funds overseas. The ($35m) Million Dollars has been laying waste but I don't want to retire from the bank without transferring the funds to a foreign account to enable me share the proceeds with the receiver. The money will be shared 60% for me and 40% for you.

There is no one coming to ask you about the funds because I secured everything. I only want you to assist me by providing a bank account where the funds can be transferred. You are not to face any difficulties or legal implications as I am going to handle the transfer personally. If you are capable of receiving the funds, do let me know immediately to enable me give you a detailed information on what to do.

For me, I have not stolen the money from anyone because the other people that took the whole money did not face any problems. This is my chance also to grab my own but you must keep the details of the funds secret to avoid any leakages as no one in the bank knows about the funds.

Please get back to me if you are interested and capable to handle this project I shall intimate you on what to do when I hear your confirmation and acceptance. If you are capable of being my trusted associate, do declare your consent to me.

Waiting for your urgent response
Yours Faithfully,

Dr.Iskandar Hisham Iqbal

Miami fashion model and blogger Off to New York'Spring fashion week 2013

Hey everybody. We are about a week away from the start of the Mercedes Benz fashion week 2013 in New York City! Technically speaking, it's the 2014 fashion week because the designers are so fabulous that they are ahead of their time lol. Most people though will be searching for the 2013 collections which is why I wrote the title the way that I have. After celebrating my birthday here in Miami with family and friends I will be getting ready to head to the Big Apple. I will of course not be there to cover the shows as a Miami fashion blogger and reporter but as a fashion model. This is still very exciting no matter how many times you go because everything is always new and fresh. It is not likely that I will have time to update my blog until after fashion week ( it ends Feb 14) between the rehersals, the fittings, the stylists, the shows and the parties its really hectic and crazy. Meanwhile I have been working on an article about my favorite Haute Couture shows so stay tuned for that. Not sure exactly what I will do tomorrow to celebrate my birthday but I think a relaxing trip to the keys should be on my itinerary before such a crazy week. I just want to keep it low key and maybe just have a nice lunch tomorrow at the Conch House in Key Largo or Hobo's Cafe. If you do ever get the chance to visit Hobo's, be sure to try the Tuscan Tuna and check out the fascinating video they show about the shipwrecks off the coast of the Florida Keys.

Miami's Political Promises are full of....

I see a lot of crazy stuff, as you might imagine while on my adventures in Florida. Some of the funnest things, I see on the highway. Take this truck for example, that I spotted while driving through Miami the other day.
. This truck is from AES portable sanitation. Notice the caution sticker. "Caution: this vehicle is full of political promises!"

The Lost Churches on the East Coast

A local television station interviewed a woman from New Jersey and asked how the loss of churches in the area would affect their lives. Without hesitation, the woman replied, "I don't know 'bout all those other people, but we ain't gone to Churches in years. We gets our chicken from Popeye's." I love Crazy comments bwahahahaha

One of the best reasons for writing a blog are the colorful comments. Most are great, even helpful. Occasionally you hook a troll and often the spammers find you. Well my post that I published this afternoon about the Spring 2013 fashion trend: structured purses has recieved some interesting spam. Somebody spammed me with a link to a DIY tutorial on how to make a burlap shopping bag lol. Not exactly high fashion but a necessity that can be purchased at the checkout of Whole Foods for a buck or two and save your time and energy for your quest to find your perfect new handbag for Spring!

Spring 2013 fashion trend: Structured purses

Some ladies collect shoes. I am a proud purseaholic. Spring gives me an excuse to find new treasures to add to my collection but sometimes, I break ou some old favorites. This Spring we will be seeing structured purses. We saw some oversized bags again but the trend this year focuses on the small handbags and cluches. This stunning little number is one of my favorites. I found this gem in a boutique in Hawaii a few years ago. This purse is made by Shiraleah and it is hand-crafted from Mother of Pearl. Each piece is sewn onto the bag, even on the bottom. It is lined in a luxurious brown silk. I have been known to carry this bag with just about anything from jeans to a formal event. It is always garners compliments and is a real conversation piece. This is a beautiful, exotic looking handbag and very unique. I have yet to see anyone else with the same bag in Miami. And that's what fashion is all about, being unique and showing off your personal style.

Vogue Magazine is the last word?

Vogue's motto is " the first look and the last word" I am half way through February's issue and so far all the " looks" have been paid advertisements. By the time I get any further all that will be left is one last word but so far Vogue hasn't written any words.

Four More Years of Barack Obama

By Annamarie Ricci Message to Barack Obama; the United States government is the servant of the people. It isn’t the other way around. “Governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. “ When you talk of disarming law abiding citizens you are making them servants of the government. There already exist measures to prevent the mentally unstable, children and criminals from legally owning weapons. Legally is the operative word here. Criminals will always find a way to get them. And you cannot take away the rights of all citizens based upon what MAY happen with that individual. You cannot punish every law abiding citizens due to the actions of criminals. One size fits all does not work in fashion and it does not work in law. This government does not have a crystal ball, but it clearly does have an agenda. Mr. Obama points to the Sandy Hook Shooting as a prime example of why such “gun control” measures are necessary. But accused killer, Adam Lanza was not the owner of any of the weapons involved. He was not the legal owner of any weapons. So as tragic as that incident is, the point is moot. Let’s also not forget that the supposed assault weapon used was found locked inside the trunk of the vehicle. History tells us that disarming citizens is the first step in establishing fascism. History also tells us that when rights are suppressed, crime increases. Did you know that in the state of Florida, since the carry and conceal laws were passed, the homicide rate has averaged 36% lower than before those laws were passed. Believe me, Florida is a crazy place so this really is saying something. In the states where guns are restricted, the homicide and violent crime rates are much higher. The Sandy Hook Shootings happened in Connecticut, a state with the strictest gun laws in the country. I am not what you would term a gun fanatic by any means. What I am against is losing rights and freedoms. Remember “Don’t tread on me?” Well, Mr. Obama has repeatedly wiped his size 11 Cole Haan’s s off on Old Glory and the constitution. I do believe that we as citizens do have the right to protect our families and ourselves from being victimized. My neighbor has the right to protect himself and his family. And I say that if Mr. Obama, since he does not have enough votes to pass his gun confiscation bill, should do so by Executive Order, then Mr. Obama should fire the Secret Service. If I cannot have the right to protect my family and myself then our President who serves us-and not the other way around, should not be able to either. We should all be in the same boat. It is nothing but lip service for someone who has round the clock armed guards for himself and his family, to tell the citizens that we are not entitled to that same security. Who can we call for help? The police? Half those people don’t do their jobs now and it will be the police who will be expected to enforce the confiscations. If Obama confiscates the guns, your home invaders will be showing up with their illegal weapons and we will have what? Bricks? Rope? A candlestick? Now is the time for the people to stand up against the communist movement that is growing in the United States. My grandparents immigrated to this country to escape this sort of abusive government to make a better life for our family. I know they would not approve of this and no doubt would be looking into alternatives. I realize that this topic may surprise you, coming from a fashion blog but life is about much more than fashion. My political position may cause some readers to dislike me or even think to post negative comments or send me nasty emails. Frankly, I would rather piss off some folks on the internet who read this post-at least I have made you think about real life issues instead of everybody staying distracted by your computer, your cell phone, texting, or the latest on the Kardashians. Remember, the likes of Hitler rose to power while German citizens were distracted and while they had complete trust in their Government. I am not inclined to have any dialogue with detractors. My opinion is just that-my opinion. If you support this President, and you are okay with all of the rights that citizens have lost so far, during this administration, then goody for you. I do not and at least in this particular moment, I still have that right. Tomorrow may be a different story. “..that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the people to alter it or abolish it and to institute new government. Yes indeed. The need for REAL change is upon us.

The Legalities of "reblogging"

I notice that the "reblog this" button is conspicuously missing from the Wordpress navigation bar. That's because pilphering content off the internet is illegal. Even if there is no notice of copyright posted, you can be sure that the content belongs to somebody. If you did not create it yourself, then you shouldn't use it. If you do not have a license agreement, then you can be liable for damages as much as $150,000 per violation. There is the rule of automatic Copyright. Any intellectual property legally belongs to the person who created it, upon it's creation. Yet Wordpress was inviting other users to violate international copyright laws and therefore could have legal implications for Wordpress. The Copyright owner is the only one who controls the publishing, copying and distribution of their work. I notice that many bloggers erroneously believe that if they provide a meager link back to where ever they took the content from,is enough to prevent a Copyright lawsuit. It is not. In fact, pointing to the source is an admission that you did not create the material yourself and it could get you into more trouble. So think before you right click. If you take anything that does not legally belong to you from Tropic Style Magazine or from any my blogs, you will be met with a legal notice.

Annamarie Ricci From Miami Fashion Blogger to Magazine Editor

I’m feeling quite nostalgic today. Nothing like surviving a near death experience. Last week, I had a flare up of asthma. This was one of the worst ever. The flare up was brought on by a cold which developed into bronchitis. So at about 5:30 am, I woke up and couldn’t breathe. My rescue medications weren’t working. Within minutes I went into Status Asthmaticus which is the most severe and often deadly form of an asthma attack. The paramedics were summoned to my home as I was starting to turn colors and lose consciousness. A lot goes thru your mind when you really believe these are your last minutes on earth. True that I feel like I went a few rounds in the ring, but that is a small price to pay. Since this terrifying incident, I have been looking back on my life. I’m grateful for what I have accomplished and for what I will accomplish in the time that God should see fit to give me. Like I said in a previous post, the scope of my blog is different from the other top fashion blogs in Miami and south Florida. Despite the claim on the internet that Miami only has 26 fashion bloggers lol, Miami actually has more than 26. Miami has so many more diverse and unique fashion perspectives than this. Perhaps these 26 are twenty-somethings and that would come as no surprise to me. The majority of fashion bloggers are teenagers or in their 20’s. It’s easy to look hella good when you’re in you’re twenties. Frankly, there is no excuse not to. Looking great when you get a bit older takes savvy. ..or maybe it takes spackle… When you’re young, everything is in the right place, and you can get away with wearing the most garish shades of eyeshadow. Can’t do that after 30 + and that is our audience at Tropic Style Magazine. Affluent men and women over 30. That great foundation that you have been using for years, suddenly isn’t your friend. That’s why I am here and that is why I created this blog. I have been a fashion and style blogger for the past 8 years here in Miami and south Florida and that experience has landed me the position of editor in chief of Tropic Style Magazine. Everybody who writes for the magazine is older, affluent, creative, chic, animal worshippers, well educated and well traveled and just all around a great bunch of folks. Miami isn’t going through any sort of fashion metamorphosis. It has always been a fashion capital of the United States. Modeling agents have known this for decades. Fashion models have always been tailored to the specific markets: LA, New York City, Chicago and Miami. Obviously different looks to appeal to the different markets but Miami has always been a major market. All that has really changed is that the fashion industry has embraced the blogger. In the past, blogs were not considered reputable but designers and manufacturers finally figured out that fashion bloggers have a lot of influence on consumers. And it is wonderful to see that so many varied opinions have gained respect. I started out as a child model and actress in Illinois. I modeled throughout my life, through college. I attended a professional modeling school. I learned professional make up artistry there and landed a job as a make up artist for Revlon. Unfortunately, it was then that I discovered that I am terribly allergic to certain cosmetics and perfumes and I was forced to quit my dream job after being diagnosed with a chemical form of pneumonia and asthma. So I flew out to Las Vegas with the support of the wonderful Italian family that I lived with while attending college. I stayed in Vegas for several weeks which was the perfect climate to recover from my illness. But the asthma never went away. Going back to my early modeling experiences, I recently found that someone uploaded a television commercial for P.G Berland’s Paint and Wallpaper City on YouTube. Unfortunately, the commercial they uploaded is the one that shows still photos of their products. The ones that I was in, featured a male comedic actor wearing a suit. He was portraying Al Berland, one of the founders . It was Al and Fred who owned that company. Fred died in 1988 and Al died of cancer in 1994. The actor said “we won’t be undersold. We sell cheap!” and the director told us all to stop and listen when we heard the word “cheap.” This was an all day filming. I was very, very young at the time and so I was right in back of the actor, standing to his left. There were several extras who would portray my father and we were shopping in the store. The commercials were all filmed at their store, at Six Corners in Chicago, during business hours. A section of the store was roped off for the filming so we had one whole isle. Both Al and Fred were in the background pretending to be shoppers. The bloopers were hilarious. We were just instructed by the director to drop whatever we were doing when the actor said “we sell cheap!” I believe it was Fred Berland who was carrying a gallon of paint in each hand and on cue, he dropped those cans on the floor. They made such a ruckus when they hit the tiled floor that everybody including the actor, turned around and looked back to see what happened. Those rogue paint cans rolled across the floor and knocked over the lights and the microphones all came crashing down. I sure wish that I could find a copy of that! My mother worked for this famous Chicago store which lead to her starting her own interior decorating business and that’s what she did up until her death. I lost my mother very early on in life as she died tragically from heart disease and brain cancer. The Berland brothers were truly pioneers. They set the standard for which all other home improvement stores follow today. (Say, FTC, does a paid endorsement from the 80's still apply if the store has long since been closed? Just checking. I sure wouldn't want to be in violation of your disclosure laws-my God how times have changed.) But I digress...often. My life has been one heck of a ride so far. I have traveled around the world and had the opportunity to know some very famous people like Madonna, The Beach Boys, the Osmonds, Ky-Mani Marley, Lou Gramm and the guys from Foreigner just to name a few. I’ve hung out at some legendary places like the Versace mansion. That’s all quite an accomplishment from a little girl who grew up in a military family of humble means. These days I still model and I teach the young girls how to be fashion models. I teach them everything from how to put together a compelling portfolio, what to carry in your model’s bag, how to develop their own public image and style, how to approach agents, how to develop charisma on the runway. I’ve been doing this privately for a many years and now the time has come to consider opening a public model’s workshop. But, in all honesty, I enjoy working with people one on one. So, even if you don’t really want to become a professional model, or at least decide that you don’t want to pursue it, you still come away with looking like a professional model. And you’re going to learn some of this here on my blog, especially how to develop personal style, what to wear, what to purchase, where to purchase . I could write all day long about my passion for modeling and personal style lol so I hope that you will bookmark my blogs and Tropic Style Magazine.

Designer Silvia Tcherassi Unveils 2013 Resort Collection at Ocean House South Beach

Ocean House hosted a poolside fashion soirĂ©e unveiling fashion designer Silvia Tcherassi’s 2013 Resort Collection on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at the ritzy residences at 125 Ocean Drive. Guests enjoyed cocktails and cigars as models sashayed around the pool in classy long, colorful silk dresses from Tcherassi’s latest collection, which was inspired by contemporary artwork. Models also showcased Tcherassi’s Couture collection, featuring sheer and nude-colored evening gowns with lace, flowing peplums and micro-sequins. Her 2013 collection consists of fluid and light material with a splash of color. Each fabric was created especially for Tcherassi by traditional Italian companies. Art has been a permanent inspiration for Silvia Tcherassi, who has taken cues of textures from artist Frida Khalo and the color palette of Fernando Botero for past collections. A percentage of the proceeds from Silvia Tcherrassi Boutiques sales through January 19 will benefit the Salvadoran American Humanitarian Foundation, which supports human development, health, education, housing programs and disaster aid in El Salvador. Ocean House, a luxury upscale beachfront property in the tony South of Fifth neighborhood, has generated quite a buzz for hosting lavish, invitation-only parties for South Florida’s elite community. The fashion show comes on the heels of Ocean House announcing it has sold 80 percent of its units, which average more than $5 million.

Saint Laurent Opens First US store in Miami Florida

by Annamarie Ricci, Miami fashion and style blogger and editor of Tropic Style Magazine When designer Yves Saint Laurent died in 2008, the future seemed uncertain. Last spring, Hedi Slimane took over the legendary French fashion house. With Slimane at the helm there have been many changes, most notably a name change to Saint Laurent. The name change was announced June 21 2012. The new logo followed which was well recieved by critics who anxiously waited to see the new collections. Slimane did not disappoint. With the unvieling of the Spring 2013 collection, a new chapter began for the fabled fashion house. Slimane's unique vision for Saint Laurent reflects in the redesigning of it's boutiques. This new chapter has proven a great benefit to the city of Miami as Saint Laurent has opened its firsy store in the US at the lux shopping center Bal Harbour on Collins Avenue. The 2,200 square foot store was personally designed by Mr. Slimane. The incorporation of black and white marble accented with luxurious gold, silver, and mirrors is absolutely stunning. This new store is very opulent yet very modern. It is a nod to the Art Deco style for which Miami is famous but with a French twist, of course.
